Register Now for Spring After-school Classes

Registration for spring classes is open until April 2. Don’t miss out on clubs for your thespians, artists, technologists and philanthropists. Or take advantage of the classes where your child will learn about safety when home alone or expand their Spanish-speaking expertise.  Check out the the available classes and register before April 2. Each club is a little different so please follow the directions on the flyer for expedited registration. Classes will begin the week of April 5.

After School Enrichment WINTER 2010

Our goal is to provide students opportunities outside the classroom for intellectual, academic and social development with programs and clubs that appeal to a broad variety of interests and ages.

Flyers for the WINTER term with class descriptions and details on registration and fees were sent home in your child’s Friday folder.  When selecting classes and clubs, remember:

1) Registration for each is different. Please complete the individual forms and return as indicated on each form no later than Wednesday, January 6.  Before holiday break is better!

2) In fairness to all enrolled students, make choices that match your child’s commitment, attention and enthusiasm.

3) Children must be preregistered in order to attend the first session.

4) It is extremely important for parents to remind children of their enrichment class each week and to notify the teacher about the class. (A note in the lunchbox is helpful.)

5) Children must be picked up on-time from the parent pick-up area in front of the school. Alternatively, club leaders can escort Student Stop children to the cafeteria. Only if you have indicated that your child will be walking or biking home, will your child be released on their own.

A limited number of scholarships are available by submitting a confidential written request to Kim Haskins, Principal, before the registration deadline.

A note from Carrie Moore, our Artist In Residence

“IMAGINE OREGON” resulted in some amazing public artwork from each and every student here at Bonny Slope I was honored to be here and share withyour kids, and truly could not have had the success we all had together without the time and generosity of the PARENT VOLUNTEERS, the teachers, staff and administration. I had so many parents and staff inquire about learning this pastel technique, I want to invite you to my summer workshops at my studio and garden. Workshop information is at www.carriemoorestudios.com at the bottom of my Home Page. I’d love to hear from you!

When you see these parents, please say a special thanks for their support, time and encouragement: Michelle Duran who led this project alongside Scott Duffens
(who graced the Scissor Lift to the skies to help Steve hang the art pieces); Becky, Gretchen, Christina, Lori, Claire, James, Melissa, Nalini, Kim, Lisa, Yulia, Danette, Mary Beth, Laura, Susan, Samantha, Wanda, Sonia, Dawne, Shannon, Liza, Sherri, Mindy,Madi, Jenny, Noga, Gloria, Bobbie, Carolyn, Madeline, Mary, Susie,Tanya, and anyone I’m leaving out (I apologize!). Also, a special thanks to the community members who love this school and donate their time, Sam and Judy.Kudos to all. To support the child in lifelong learning, arts and culture- it takes a village, and I was so glad to be part of yours for awhile.

Sincerely,
Carrie Moore
