Winter Scrip Helps Fund 5th Grade Activities

Scrip is a great fundraising program for the school where people buy gift cards to restaurants, grocery stores, and specialty shops and a percentage of the purchase price comes back to the school. It’s easy to do and you don’t spend any more money than you normally would.

For the months of February and March, all of the proceeds that the Scrip program makes will go to the 5th graders for their class activities like Outdoor School, a 3 day program where they’ll get a chance to go to the coast to study the area through hands-on experiments and research.

Please help support the 5th graders and order Scrip for your next grocery shopping stop, your next trip to the mall, or your next meal at a local restaurant. Order forms are available just outside the office door or online at http://bonnyslopebsco.org/committees/fundraising/scrip and they’re due at 9:00 AM Tuesday mornings for a return of the gift cards in your child’s backpack on Fridays. A limited quantity of Scrip gift cards are also available at school every Friday morning during the school assembly.

5th Grade Fundraiser – Valley Theater Spring Family Matinee Program

It’s back– the family movie deal!  Help support the fifth graders by purchasing tickets to the family movie program being offered by the Valley Theater in Beaverton.  For a mere $9 per child’s ticket you get passes to 10 movies, passes that include adult entry to the shows at no additional cost!  The spring line up of movies has recent hits including Alvin & the Chipmunks II.  Tickets will be sold Friday mornings at school at the scrip sales table, as well as during the family movie night 2/12.  If you have questions or would like tickets and are unable to purchase them at these times, e-mail Pam Grater @ pgrater@hotmail.com.

Valley Theater spring ticket holders, the theater has announced an additional showtime at 5:30 p.m. on Sundays.  You can attend at this time, or any of the other times listed on your tickets!

5th Grade Valentine Candy-Grams

The 5th grade class will be selling handmade Valentines with chocolate candy hearts before and after school from February 4th through February 11th.  Buy a Valentine Candy-Gram for a friend, family member, or your favorite staff member!  Only 50¢ each, these delicious treats and heart-warming cards will make someone feel very special. (Complete this form and make all payments to “BSCO”.) All Candy-Grams will be delivered directly to the classrooms on Friday, February 12th, just in time for Valentine’s Day. Thanks for supporting the 5th grade students in their quest to earn money to pay for their class activities, including Outdoor School.

Teacher Gift Idea

While most teachers do not expect to receive gifts from their students during the holidays and giving teachers gifts is not required, many of us like to include our kids’ teachers on our holiday gift-giving list. If you are looking for a gift your teachers will love, consider giving your teacher and other Bonny Slope staff members a gift of Scrip.

Here’s how it works. Fill out the Scrip Gift  Order Form and tell us how much Scrip you would like to give to each person. Turn it in to the office by Tuesday, December 16th. The teachers & staff members will be notified of their gifts on December 18th and will be able to chose the gift cards they would like from our list of ~100 retailers. This gift-giving program not only benefits our Bonny Slope community. It also offers you an easy way to give your child’s teachers a gift they can use. See the attached forms for more details.

All of the profits generated from the Scrip program, including teacher gifts, until December 19th will go toward funding the 5th grade outdoor school in the spring. The 5th graders will be working closely with the Scrip team during this time to help with sales.
