Write A Check Fundraiser | 100% Participation Goal

September 1, 2010 Fundraising No Comments

The theme at Bonny Slope for the 2010-2011 school year is Reflect.  As a school community we have been very fortunate over the past three years in providing a wonderful experience for our children. The commitment and support of all of our families makes this possible.  Your participation is reflected in the exceptional education your students will receive this year at Bonny Slope. Help us achieve our goal of 100% participation in this year’s Write-a-Check program.

Write-a-Check is the main fall fundraiser for Bonny Slope, enabling the school to offer the following programs and more:

  • Educational Support
  • Art Literacy
  • Artist in Residence
  • Science Fair
  • Passport Club
  • After School Activities
  • Family Events
  • Community Outreach
  • School-wide Support

The current economic environment makes us all stop to consider the value of a dollar and any support is greatly appreciated.  At a cost of $90 per student last year, BSCO was able to fund these programs for your child.   100% participation will provide a great, meaningful year for all our children.

Every dollar makes a difference – literally.  Whether your contribution is $1 or $100, every dollar of donation will go directly to the school for the programs mentioned above.  Remember, these donations are tax deductible and a receipt will be sent for your generous contribution.  All donation information is strictly confidential.

Progress toward our 100% participation goal will be tracked by a thermometer in the main lobby.

New incentive for 2010-2011!  For every family that donates $100 per child…their child will receive a yearbook, directory and have their class party fee paid for.

The Bonny Slope 2010 Jog-a-thon was a HUGE success!

Congratulations Bonny Slope Elementary for earning $23,928 from the 2010 Jog-a-thon. A group of teachers will be entertaining the kids by doing a Hula dance on the roof soon!

Make February a Big Box Top Month!

The last Box Top submission deadline for money we receive this year is the end of February. Clip those Box Tops and make it a big month!  Don’t worry, our classroom competition will continue through the end of April.  The top two classrooms will receive a free period of PE and an ice cream sundae party. Mr. Epstein’s classroom is in the lead with Mrs. Williamson’s class a close second.  Mrs. Williamson’s class also won the Bobcat for the month of January with 356 Box Tops turned in, the most for any single month this school year.  Way to go!

Teacher & Staff “SCRIP Gift” Program for Holiday Giving

December 13, 2009 Fundraising No Comments
Teacher & Staff “SCRIP Gift” Program for Holiday Giving

Holiday gift giving can be a heartwarming and fulfilling experience.  At times, it can also be a difficult task trying to find the perfect gift.  If you are planning to give a gift to your child’s teacher this holiday season, please consider giving them and any other Bonny Slope staff member(s) a gift  card(s) from the BSCO SCRIP program.  Since all of the “gifts” are rolled into one “gift”, no contribution is too small, and the recipient can choose a gift they really need.

If you would like to participate:
-Download the ORDER FORM and send it to school with your child (or drop it off in the office) in an envelope marked “GIFT SCRIP”.
-Checks should be payable to “BSCO”.
-ALL orders must be received NO LATER than TUESDAY, DECEMBER 15.  (Any orders received after this date will be returned.)

Here’s how Teacher/Staff gift SCRIP works:
-Your dollar amount will be added to their total “gift amount”.
-On December 18th, each teacher/staff member will receive a gift card providing them with a dollar amount and list of those who gave. (THE DOLLAR AMOUNT OF YOUR GIFT WILL NEVER BE PROVIDED).
-Your designated teacher/staff member(s) will be given a SCRIP order form to choose BSCO SCRIP gift cards from their favorite stores, restaurants, etc.

ALSO- DON’T FORGET TO ORDER SCRIP FOR YOUR OTHER HOLIDAY GIFT NEEDS- GIFT CARDS MAKE GREAT GIFTS FOR YOUR BABYSITTER, NEWSPAPER CARRIER, MAILMAN, FAR AWAY RELATIVES, ETC.
