PACE, a new fundraising program!

We’ve added a new fundraising program, PACE, as one of our new fundraising programs this year. As a PACE member, you save 20% at hundreds of local participating restaurants and our school earns 5% on every purchase you make. PACE easily raises thousands of dollars for our school and rewards you at the same time. With over 200 participating businesses, your personal savings can be significant. There are no order forms to track, funds to collect, delivery schedules to meet, volunteer hours, or door-to-door sales. However, you do need to register!
Don’t pass up this opportunity to save hundreds of dollars while helping Bonny Slope raise thousands:

Thank you to everyone who has purchased gift cards from the Scrip team this school year. So far we have earned over $4,500 for the school- all without asking you to spend an extra dime. Money earned by the Scrip program has helped to fund the following programs…. Artist in residence (Carrie Moore), the Art Lit program, Science Fair, BSE’s 1st Carnival, after school enrichment programs, Bobcat Trail, Passport Club, Community Outreach, Teacher Grant Requests, and more!

This last date for Scrip orders will be Tuesday, June 2nd (with delivery on Friday, June 5th). Be sure to stock up for summer- buy extra grocery store, car wash and restaurant gift cards to meet your summer needs!

Everyone who has purchased gift cards through the Scrip program during this school year has been entered into a raffle and has a chance to win a 2 night’s stay at Mrs. Haskins’ beach house in Lincoln City. You still have time to be entered into the drawing– simply by Scrip before the end of the school year. The drawing will take place  during the last week of school. The more scrip you order, the more chances you have to win! Good Luck!

Have you started collecting sponsors? Bonny Slope Elementary’s First Annual Jog-a-thon is approaching quickly! On Friday, May 8th all students in kindergarten through fifth grade will participate in Bonny Slope’s First Annual Jog-a-thon

Jog-a-thon packets were sent home on Friday, April 3rd. If you haven’t already, please help your kid(s) to solicit pledges that sponsor them on a per lap basis or a total flat donation. We are encouraging the kids to talk with friends, neighbors, and relatives for these pledges. Each student will be encouraged to strive to reach their personal best distance, whether that means they walk, jog, or run on the track.

May 8th promises to be a fun day for all!  Instead of going to Rhythms class students will go outside to the track to participate in the Jog-a-thon. Each class will be given 20 minutes to walk or run to the beat of the music playing on the field. Students will track the number of laps they run with a ‘lap tag’, which will be punched each time the student reaches the starting point. After the 20-minute run/walk, we will record the number of laps each student runs and each child will be given a snack and with water before they return to their classroom. Remember, this is a rain or shine event. Please be sure to dress your child in weather-appropriate clothing on May 8th.

On the day of the event, the students will bring their lap tags home so they have a record of how many laps they ran when they collect their pledges. Students will be asked to submit all the money they raise between Monday, May 11th and Friday, May 15th. Please hold on to your child’s donations until the week of May 11th; we will not be collecting early donations.

The jog-a-thon is our only large fundraiser for the spring. The money raised during this event will help to fund spring BSCO events such as the Carnival, and will help to ensure the BSCO has funds to support next fall’s events. We expect the Jog-a-thon to be a major fundraiser for our school. If each student raises $15, we will raise over $7,000 for student activities. If your child has enjoyed BSCO sponsored programs such as the Back-to-School Picnic, the Harvest Festival, the Artist-in-Residence, the Art Lit Program, the Bobcat Trail, or the Science Fair (just to name a few) be sure to help them to get their sponsors!

If you have any questions regarding the jog-a-thon, feel free to contact Jennifer Hillman (martyjennh@comcast.net) or Shelly Brown (shelly@leedavies.com).

Pizza Schmizza – FINAL FUNDRAISING RESTAURANT NIGHT!! April 28th!

Support Bonny Slope Elementary’s fundraising efforts at our Pizza Schmizza Sunset restaurant night (FINAL RESTAURANT NIGHT OF THE YEAR).  Print this FLYER OR bring the one that comes home in your student’s Friday Folder April 10th and 35% of your food order will be donated to the school to help fund various student programs – Art Literacy, Passport Club, Science Fair and many others.

We encourage you to use the pre-order FORM for work lunches and business meetings on April 28th since these orders are typically larger and, therefore, generate more money for the school.  The donation applies to all food ordered in the restaurant and to-go.
