End of the Year Message from BSCO

We’ve made it to the end of of another school year.  Before we all go off on vacation and lose touch, I would like to say thank you to everyone that has helped us out this year.  Our second year at Bonny Slope Elementary has been so successful because of all the parents and community members that have offered their time and energy to help our school thrive.  It has been a great year!  On behalf of the BSCO Board, THANK YOU!  Have a wonderful summer.

Girls Scouts Food Pantry Drive

Girl Scout Troops 616 & 704 are doing a food, toy and book drive to benefit Sunshine Pantry.

Please bring canned goods, gently used toys and books to school on the week of March 29 – April 2.  We’ll get the stuff to people in need in the community.

For added convenience, the Girl Scouts will be picking up drive items from parent pickup on Tuesday afternoon. Please contact Pam Winklesky for further details.

5th Grade Valentine Candy-Grams

The 5th grade class will be selling handmade Valentines with chocolate candy hearts before and after school from February 4th through February 11th.  Buy a Valentine Candy-Gram for a friend, family member, or your favorite staff member!  Only 50¢ each, these delicious treats and heart-warming cards will make someone feel very special. (Complete this form and make all payments to “BSCO”.) All Candy-Grams will be delivered directly to the classrooms on Friday, February 12th, just in time for Valentine’s Day. Thanks for supporting the 5th grade students in their quest to earn money to pay for their class activities, including Outdoor School.

Evening PYP (Primary Years Programme) Coffee Chat, Wed., Jan 27th

Due to overwhelming feedback and a desire for an EVENING PYP (Primary Years Programme) Coffee Chat, we will be holding an evening session NEXT Wednesday, January 27th from 6:30p.m – 8:00p.m. in our cafeteria.  We will briefly cover all topics that we have touched on in prior Coffee Chats, as well as go into more detail about the heart of the curriculum, Bonny Slope’s Programme of Inquiry.

As the year comes to an end, we would like to thank you all for your continued support and dedication. Bonny Slope Elementary is an incredible school because
so many people have worked hard to make it that way. It is a great partnership between school staff, parents, and community. The BSCO looks forward to working

Attention! Passport Club’s November Check Day arrives early on the 18th.

Have you noticed that Check Day occurs at the end of the month? Well, that’s certainly true–it is scheduled on the last instructional Wednesday of each month. EXCEPT November! Many families find that the shortened school week of the Thanksgiving holiday is extra hectic. To make Passport Club participation easier at that busy time, we test one week earlier. So, please note that the November Check Day is on the 18th, NOT the 25th. Note that some Special Itinerary and Continent Challenge packets incorrectly showed the later date. Our apologies!
