Why do we need to raise money?
The BSCO is working on numerous programs for the 2008-09 school year that are not covered by the school budget. In order to have many of the programs you enjoyed at your old school, we must raise funds to pay for them.
What programs will be supported with the funds raised?
In the opening year of BSE, we hope to offer the following programs and more:
· Educational Support
· Art Literacy
· Artist in Residence
· Science Fair
· Passport Club
· After School Activities
· Family Events
· Community Outreach
· Schoolwide Support
What fundraising programs are being planned for the 2009-10 school year?
We are planning to have the following fundraisers during the 2009-10 school year:
- Write a Check Campaign
- Jog A Thon
- SCRIP
- Box Tops
- PACE
- Restaurant Nights
- Other: Grocery Cards, matching funds, etc.
The Write-a-Check campaign will be our primary source of funds, with the other fundraisers supplementing the money we raise from Write-a-Check. We are not planning to raise money through a carnival, auction, or sales fundraisers (Entertainment books, Sally Foster, etc.). These larger fundraisers tend to be very time consuming and we’d like to use our resources to support the other committees of the Community Organization.
What volunteer opportunities are available on the Fundraising Committee?
There are numerous opportunities to volunteer on the fundraising committee. You do not need to have fundraising experience to help; many of the jobs are administrative.
