Not surprisingly, many of the extras Bonny Slope students enjoy are supported through fundraising. The BSCO works hard to focus fundraising on a couple of primary sources to minimize the number of times families are asked for contributions, and to create a revenue source that can reliably fund programs the BSCO decides valuable.
The Write-a-Check Campaign is our primary source of income for the year, projected to generate more than half of our budget. We also rely on the Scrip program, which earns money for our school from your purchases with popular merchants. During the spring Jog-a-Thon we will have our students have sponsors pledge donations based on the number of laps they run during a specified time. We still need volunteers to support the Scrip program and the Jog-a-Thon, as well as our other smaller fundraising programs.
Write-a-Check
The write-a-check campaign will be the BSCO’s primary source of income for the 2011-12 school year. We still need money to fund all of the great programs we have planned, and it is not too late to donate. We will accept donations from BSE community members, family, friends… anyone! As you all know, money raised by the BSCO goes right back to your child’s classroom to enrich their learning experience. For details about how you can make a donation, click here.
Retailer Incentive Programs
Bonny Slope Elementary participates in the incentive programs of several local retailers to help raise money for our school. By participating, we can help our children with very little additional effort and no extra spending. Your family can help to support programs that would otherwise be unable to offer. All you need to do is link an account number to your grocery card, clip labels, or collect items you would normally throw away. Here are the details:
Box Tops
General Mills donates 10 cents for each box top collected. See the website for eligible products. Earn more Box Tops by joining The Box Tops Booster Club at www.boxtops4education.com. Have your child place your family’s Box Tops (in sheets of 10) in the collection boxes in their classroom.
Safeway
Link your Safeway Club Card at www.escrip.com to the BSCO account (Group ID # 500018896, or Group name ‘Bonny Slope Community Organization’) and our school makes a percentage back on all purchases. No or little computer access? Ask the clerk at Safeway to help you or jot us a note with your name and club card# and we’ll input it for you. Don’t forget you can also use your eScrip account to get cash for BSE when you make purchases at Zupan’s, Whole Foods, Macy’s, Amazon.com, American Airlines, Eddie Bauer, Barnes & Noble and more. Check out www.eScrip.com for more details.
Fred Meyer
Fred Meyer will give 5% of all purchases to BSE. You can link your Fred Meyer card to the BSE account by calling 1-877-456-7750 and giving them the BSCO account number, # 444926133228. Or if you don’t have a Fred Meyer card, you can enter the school phone number (503-672-3775) on the pin pad at checkout.
Albertson’s
The Albertson’s Community Partners program is coming soon! Details will be announce once the BSE account has been turned on.
Office Depot
Participate in this program and BSE will receive a merchandise card each quarter in the amount of 5% of your purchases (for qualifying purchases only), up to $50 per quarter, per person. At the checkout, simply tell them you want to participate in the ’5% Back to Schools Program’ and donate to Bonny Slope Elementary, or give them our school ID # 70217798. Anyone can do this program—no special sign-ups are necessary!
Target
Link your Target Charge Card to BSE ID #149626 for a donation of up to 1% of all of your Target purchases, and ½% of your non-Target purchases.
Wamoola
If you bank at Washington Mutual, don’t forget to sign up for the Wamoola for Schools program and purchases using your Washington Mutual Debit Master Card will benefit our school. For more information visit your bank or http://www.wamoolaforschools.com
Scrip
Beginning in September 2008 Bonny Slope Elementary will be offering Scrip as a means to raise money for our schools. ‘Scrip’ are gift cards you purchase at face value, with a portion of the purchase price going to BSE. Retailers participating in the scrip program include Safeway, Fred Meyer, Macy’s, GAP, Piccolo Mondo, and many, many more. Use scrip for your everyday purchases and help raise money for Bonny Slope Elementary. To participate, you simply purchase gift cards through the BSCO and use them for payment at your favorite merchant. Scrip orders will be accepted each Tuesday, with gift cards being delivered each Friday.
The scrip order form will be posted on the website beginning in September.
Win a weekend in Mrs. Haskin’s house at the coast!
Your scrip purchases will earn you a chance to be entered into a raffle to win a weekend at Mrs. Haskin’s beach house at the coast and other great prizes. The more scrip you order, the more chances you have to win.
For more information about the scrip program, including the scrip raffle, click here.
Restaurant Nights
