BSE Scrip Program

SCRIP = GIFT CARDS

Bonny Slope Community Organization offers scrip as a means to raise money for our school. You purchase the gift cards at face value and a portion of the purchase price goes to BSCO. Retailers participating in the scrip program include Safeway, Fred Meyer, Macy’s, GAP, Piccolo Mondo, and many, many more. Use scrip for your everyday purchases and help raise money for BSCO. To participate, you simply purchase gift cards through the BSCO.  Scrip orders will be accepted each week before 9 am on Tuesday, with gift cards being delivered each Friday.

What is scrip?
Scrip is a term that means “substitute money”. When you purchase scrip, you are purchasing gift certificates or gift cards. The scrip is issued by the national and local retailers where many of you already shop.  You can use scrip to purchase everyday expenses like food, clothing, and other essentials.  You get the full value on the card.  The entire donation comes from the companies.

How scrip generates revenue for you.
The Tigard Scrip center acts on behalf of non-profit organizations to purchase large amounts of scrip from grocery stores, department stores, and other retailers. Because the scrip is purchased with cash up front, the participating retailers offer a substantial discount. BSCO buys the scrip from Tigard Center at a discount, and re-sells the certificates to you for full face value. The bulk of the discount – from two to fifteen percent or more – is retained by BSCO as revenue.

Scrip is “shopping cart fundraising”.
The reason for the effectiveness of scrip is simple: families generate revenue through purchases they would make anyway. Groceries, clothing, toys, gifts, even gasoline can be purchased with scrip. BSCO can raise a significant amount of money for our school without asking families to spend an additional penny. Retailers included in the scrip program include Fred Meyer, Safeway, Thriftway, Albertson’s,, Macy’s, GAP, Nike, Kaady Car Wash, Outback Steakhouse, Powell’s Books, See’s, and many, many more!

How to order scrip…..
Scrip orders will be accepted each Tuesday morning. Send your scrip order and check made out to “BSCO” to school with your child and the order will be collected by your child’s teacher. Orders can also be placed into the ‘Scrip’ mailbox in the school office no later than 9 am on Tuesday. Each week, the scrip you have ordered will arrive home in your child’s backpack on Friday.

When is scrip delivered if there is no school on Friday?

If Bonny Slope is scheduled to have no school on Friday, scrip will be delivered on Thursday. If Bonny Slope is scheduled to have no school on Thursday and Friday, Scrip will be delivered on Monday.

In addition, there will be no scrip orders Thanksgiving week.
